In 20 days will one year anniversity of me deciding to be an Atheist. It's hard to believe it's been almost an year since I freed myself from religious bs. It's been happiest year of my adult life. Only regret not doing it earlier in life. The only way I can think of celebrating it that is legal in Illinois is updating my profile . How long have been non religious from under one year to 1 to 5 years. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me on my journey of enlightenment. Looking on suggestions on how to celebrate it. I welcome any input.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the thing that deconverted you?

How the gay community is treated, the contradictions in the bible, and a family member implying that I would go to hell if I became an Catholic. I come from a family of Baptists.

First, congrats! Buy your self an atheist t-shirt, go have a nice meal out, buy a book about atheism. Go volunteer through a non theist charity. Donate to an atheist non-profit. So many things to do.

The t shirt sounds like a good idea and finishing my book on atheism would be good. I might go to Hooters to celebrate it as well.

I would hope you celebrate it every day in your outlook, just continue doing that 🙂
