As an atheist, my life is filled with joy, awe and wonder. Hiking is a transcendent, uplifting experience for me.

So perhaps Oprah thought she was being kind to Nyad by trying to deny that she was “really” an atheist? In spite of these negative stereotypes, research actually presents a more favourable portrait of what atheists are like, finding that compared to religious people in general they tend to be generally less prejudiced and to have more universally inclusive values, e.g. atheists tend to be less racist and sexist, less anti-Semitic, less nationalistic, less dogmatic, and less authoritarian.

I couldn't vote for her because she has along history of promoting quacks and pseudo-science. She's either incredibly gullible or a con-artist.

But if she wins, everyone who voted for her will find tickets to Australia under their seats.
