Ayahuasca. Who has tried it? Stateside or South America?
There is a (legal) practisioner in my state and I am considering attending a ceremony.

I would like to know your thoughts.

Well, you're going to throw up, and you're going to hallucinate. You'll stay up all night. You are going to want to have an experienced guide, preferably one that has some Valium around in case things take a turn for the worse. If you have any history of psychosis, you do NOT want to do this.

I have done organic hallucinagens, not ayahuasca per se. If you have serious issues with functioning in a positive responsible way, might you seek help elsewhere first? Take advantage of your healthcare insurance options. This is the Native American Church & it is a TV show & I do not think they will accept you on a whim. Sure go for it but seek help anyway from traditional methods. We are only just beginning scientific study into these methods due to 100 years of suppression. We are so behind due to Tricky Dick Nixon's policy of complete illegality. What a dope. Blech Republicans.

There's a show on cable channel Viceland called Kentucky Ayahuasca. It concerns me because neither one of the 'shamans' has any medical training. They are both ex-cons and they don't strike me as having enough common sense to call 911 if needed. Just my opinion.

I know a bunch of people who have although I've never done it. Pretty much everyone pukes and that's a no go for me. If that doesn't deter you, go for it. Otherwise, you can try shrooms with guide or a group ceremony.

The effects of hallucinogenic drugs depend a lot on the amount taken and the context. I'd recommend against taking large amounts without a guide or at least a sober person to make sure you stay safe.

I'm going to take a hard pass.
Hope you enjoy it, if you partake.
Be safe.

I've read. With the right guide I would be interested. Remember to wear old clothes because getting sick at first is common.
