That's the reason my Mom switched from Talcum powder to Cornstarch. The cancer link.

Apparently many crayon manufacturers also changed formulations after they found out that talc has trace asbestos content.

I never heard about that link. It's interesting - especially as we often added crayons to candles in the 70s (it was a project for kids and teens). Gees.

Asbestos? Crayons contain talc, which can be contaminated with traces of asbestos as talc and asbestos deposits tend to be found together. [en.wikipedia.org]
