So I wake up to a refrigerator that is 60 degrees.

It is only going to be around $300 but I just bought it last April. It's not a mini fridge but maybe about half size.

Didn't Frigidaire used to be a reliable appliance?

It's the mucking it out that I dread more than the cost.

oh and there are stairs involved. stairs with a corner.

The more expensive equipment, the more expensive itll be to serve. If you can't afford the service, you should have chosen a different mod. But if the purchase is made, you can get out of the situation in another way, find a good budget service, I like Repair Near Me, or look at some other. That way you'll probably save money on maintenance. And regarding quality, unfortunately a lot of brands are making equipment with a shorter lifespan, for this reason, I bought some used equipment. Thesere washing machine and dishwasher Repair Near Me, about 5 years running already!

UPDATE 2 - Replacement delivered and old one hauled away.

Delivery dude carried them up and down the staircase by hand.

Ten buck tip for that.

And Psoghi has a big box to play in for a few days.

UPDATE - Since it is under a year from purchase it seems it will be under warranty for replacement.

I'll just have to deal with the phone shuffle thing.

Removal/Replacement all that.

Just got a new fridge today.

I used to work on them and I only buy a good used one. Brand names mean nothing any longer and you have to know what t look for. Why buy a good used one? The Pacman Capitalism of today puts us all in the land of goods and services. That's all it is about. Simply the making of money and YOU are the product.

Transport would be the problem with that.

@BufftonBeotch Find someone who would deliver and also take away the old one.

pretty much everything is made in China now and quality control varies from factory to factory . . so no - cheap fridges are the price of cheap fridges

There's more to it than that. Appliances these days are engineered to fail after a certain amount of time. That's one of the reasons they do all that testing I'm sure you've heard mentioned in commercials. They're testing appliances to make sure they fail within an acceptable limited time period.
