What are people's thoughts on psychedelics? Personally it feels like without them I wouldn't have such an open mind; or be able to admit faults and let go of things so easily if not for the experience of shedding my ego during a trip that seems to have stuck with me since. Just wondering, I know the biggest pitfall for drug use is that the experience is purely subjective, so would be interested in hearing opinions and lessons learned, whether good or bad. Have a great day!
The main problem as I see it is that it's difficult to safely and legally obtain them. It is easy to get something that's "cut" or impure or not the dosage you think it is. I would like to see them legalized and properly manufactured.
There's a lot of literature out there on "micro-dosing" for various benefits; these should be researched properly. I've heard for example that very small doses of LSD -- a bit shy of when you start perceiving your surroundings as "brightening" -- is supposed to improve depression when nothing else works, and is supposed to be good for improving focus and creativity. These claims should be substantiated.
I never had any problems with LSD. That was in the early 70s. It certainly made me less fearful and apprehensive of the unknown, kept my mind open to new experiences and created a bond with the people who were with me then.
Now I have more to worry about. my body is broken and now presents a liability. But I would probably eat some mushrooms. I have fond memories of the incredible sense o f well being.
first - shrooms are the safest of the recreational drugs. safer even than marijuana. I think that in a few decades we'll discover that a proper recuperation from depression starts with a shroom trip. I also believe such a trip will be a standard prescription for a variety of mental ills and psych maintenance.
