wonder how much time Trebek's fortune will buy him. pretty bad odds for that cancer.
i guess maybe in his case luck evened out. he went from really good luck when he was young to the worst luck in his old age. for the crap players out there he threw snake eyes.
one thing in his favor is they have assisted suicide in CA. but then, i suppose they've always had a version of it for the connected.
be a hard decision to make but i'm pretty sure i wouldn't want to go thru all the chemo & shit.

Friends of mine's dad passes away from it. You have almost 0% chance of recovery from it. He died 6-8 mons after being diagnosed. He was in his early 50's.

How did someone with the world's best health care not catch it sooner?

More than those without wealth or insurance would have

Trebek is already 78 years old.
When he was born his life expectancy was 63.1
He has already beaten that by 15 years.
Plus he has been rich and successful.

yes but if you check the actuarial stats a healthy 78 yr old usually has another 10 yrs left.

@callmedubious That's because he survived his "stupid teenage male" years.
