I had some one put it to me very interesting about what a ghost and such could be. We are all just vessels of energy. Since energy is not created or destroyed merely transformed from one form to another. When a ghost is seen it is merely the energy of that person re manifesting into a format its use to being in. Interesting. Thoughts on this line of thinking?

One question, where do ghosts get their energy from ?. Animals, including humans get their energy from the food they eat and the air they breathe, so do ghosts eat and drink or do they just plug themselves into an electric socket for a recharge.

I hear that one of the founders of Remote Viewing, Russel Targ has a saying. "People like to deny 3 sciences. the Science of Climate, The Science of Evolution and the Science of Consciousness. Specifically where the science points to that consciousness doesn't exist between your ears.

I agree with the energy part, however I personally think when we die that energy just gets dispersed through the air and not actually into anything in particular.

But I'm no scientist....just my own thoughts

Ya but what if some energy had like a memory or structure that it would routinely go through?

@Williever personally I don’t think that’s possible

Ok so then every one that has ever claimed to have seen a ghost they are all in some semi conscious, half dream state, or just plain don't know what they are talking about? That's an awful lot of people of there that are all experiencing auditory and visual hallucinations. Must be something in the water eh?? Butt I've known a fewpeople that claim to have seen ghosts, and I've even seen pictures taken. So now we're all experiencing hallucinations, and the camera too.. Maybe the camera was just malfunctioning too right? No there's something more to it. I want there but I've seen the pictures. That was no freak like state.

It's pretty easy to manipulate a photo

There is a stat that people are more likely to see ghosts when they are very relaxed. So when you are half sleeping you are half dreaming perhaps ?

Ya but then there are pictures to. And to have a room full of people all see it, and snap pictures too. Everyone in that room was not sleeping or hallucinating.

@Williever I have seen some of those pictures and most of the ones I have seen look like technical problems with the camera to me.

Well an internal combustion engine is "just a vessel of energy". If it is destroyed in a car crash, do we expect a "ghost engine" to continue running off to the side somewhere or in some other realm? Of course not.

Internal combustion engines (and human beings) are particular active configurations of matter and energy that rely on their current form for their function. When that form is disrupted or destroyed, so is the function.

There is no basis to think that something as complex as human consciousness continues apart from the neurobiological substrate and the electrochemical reactions going on in it. And there's a LOT of basis to think that it doesn't.

Ya well if an engine had taken the energy around it and assembled it in a structured form. Rather Ann engine is a vessel no doubt but it doesn't rearrange energy how it wants it to be. So it is still all just random energy. Contained but with no memory. We assemble energy and piece it oh so carefully into the body. Little bit here little bit there until we pass. That energy is not random, but engineered carefully assembled like an engine but the energy inside had been more carefully pout together our thought out thank the combustion of any other engine combustion or ram or turbo charged. That type of energy is very random.

@Williever Forgive me if I'm not understanding you, but you appear to be arguing that intentionality and/or design has something to do with whether a particular organization of energy and matter retains something identifiable as uniquely "itself" after it is killed or otherwise destroyed. I really don't see how anyone's intent has anything to do with that. In other words, if you "intend" to live beyond the grave, in what way does that cause you to live beyond the grave? In what way does that make you more likely to have an afterlife than a mosquito or an internal combustion engine? Or to be less "random" than those things?

To continue my analogy, an internal combustion engine is deigned and it is built with the intention of it performing a particular function for as long as possible, but the fact there is intention behind it doesn't change the fact that when it wears out or is mangled in an accident, it ceases to function AS an engine. Its metals might be melted down and made into something else, just as our body decays and is reincorporated into other living things, but there is zero evidence that some separate essence of self-hood and identity can exist apart from a body, and if it did, I cannot imagine the how carefully or deliberately or purposefully constructed it was, would have the slightest thing to do with that.

If there was such a thing as ghosts, I'd imagine they'd have better things to do than to hang around this shitty world.

Yeah ghosts are depicted usually as almost in a dreamlike state, unaware that they've even died, mechanically acting out their past life, usually its emotional high points whether positive or negative. Even if they existed, it sounds like a form of hell for the ghost.

Ya but it's not really a choice and I doubt they are able to choose what to do any more.

@Williever , because things that don't exist can't make a choice 🙂

The stored energy in our bodies simply goes back into the earth upon our death to continue the circle of life.
If there were ghosts or spirits of the formerly living, the rule wouldn’t apply to just humans. We’d see ghosts of every fly or mosquito we’ve ever swatted.
Why do people never claim to see ghosts from our beginnings such as Neanderthals or Homo Erectus?

What you said.

Eventually that energy dissipates and is absorbed back into the earth. Or goes some where but does not remain assembled forever.

Someone once pointed out how when those ghost hunter shows go to other countries like Germany, they still speak English....and the EVPs come out an English. Seems more than a little fishy

@Marcie1974 they are all hinky af. Just one last comment on this. Who knows how many different types of energy there are out there? According to string theory and the wave theory? Once you are observing the energy it can change from properties of a wave to having properties of a particle.
