Because Trump knows more about flying planes than anyone.

Eugene Gu, MD:
The problem was that Boeing never really told the pilots of these new airplanes that the MCAS system even existed or what it does. They just quietly rolled it out thinking there would be no problems with a computer program that could automatically nosedive the airplane.

China, Indonesia, Ethiopian Airlines, and many other countries have already grounded their entire fleet of Boeing 737 Max 8s because two brand new airplanes crashed within 6 months. But Trump’s FAA said it’s safe to fly on these airplanes because money is important than people.

Donald J. Trump: Airplanes are becoming far too complex to fly. Pilots are no longer needed, but rather computer scientists from MIT. I see it all the time in many products. Always seeking to go one unnecessary step further, when often old and simpler is far better. Split second decisions are........needed, and the complexity creates danger. All of this for great cost yet very little gain. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want Albert Einstein to be my pilot. I want great flying professionals that are allowed to easily and quickly take control of a plane!

I want this man out of the WH so bad. What an embarrassment. What a dunce.

Trump: I have a natural gift for science; and I know the biggest words!

Like impeachment, collusion, incompetence, narcissistic, ...

Yeah, on NPR they talked about how Boeing made "improvements", but failed to provide any training for pilots to learn the new system.

Now, Trump is saying that the technology is too complicated for pilots and is suggesting that planes be fuilly automated so pilots won't be needed. For me I'd be wiling to use a driverless car, which stays ont eh ground, but I don't want to be in a plane at 20,000 feet with nobody in a cockpit to deal with problems when things go wrong. In a car survival is likely. In a plane without a pilot if something goes wrong, death is practically guaranteed.
