So new developement at work. My head Chef is on vacation, he calls me a few days before he leaves asking me if I can work on my days off. I being a loyal employee say yes.
Found out today the other Chef that works with us has up and quit so now I am the only Chef left at the retirement home and my last day is at the end of the month.
I like my boss he is a good guy, but if he knew that his Friend he hired ABOVE me had quit before he went on vacation and not told me, Well lets just say it is a good thing I already put in my notice.
He is not back from vacation until the 22nd. I have the next 2 days off (Agency Chefs working) And then I guess it is Balls to the walls for me. Oh yeah my KP went home sick today FUN DAY

It makes it worse that it is a retirement home, and that people aren't just going to be inconvenienced because heir favorite restaurant is closed for a few days.
But you can't continue to work like this. It will ruin your health, not to mention your spirit.

Lucky for me The end of the month is my last day, I had already given my notice to my boss because I am moving back to the states. Unlucky for the residents because now there will only be one chef. Because I love the people I work with so much if I could change this I might do so now but unfortunately Because of my split with my EU citizen Wife I will be illegal to work in the UK so Not even a choice plus I have my plane tickets already.
I’m so freaking glad I’m out of the food service industry. I’ll shoot myself in the head before I ever go back in to that pit of misery.

My problem is I love the game. I love the food and I love the adrenaline rush you get when you are busy. What I don't like is when the Idiot leave you high and dry
