Are we going to allow Far-right apologists or possibly even agitators a forum here? Or?

If I run into them, I block them. If I thought I might learn something new, I wouldn't, but I know I won't. They have been spewing the same shit my whole life.

I hope one doesn't start, but I'm not in favor of censorship on this site of any sincere political viewpoints. We already have enough of that in the corporate media. Let the site's members see the whole range of poli viewpoints and vote their support with their keyboards. At the same time, I don't have any optimism or really care if they learn anything from those who disagree with them, I just want all viewpoints to be allowed as long as there is not continued harrassment or bullying allowed on the forums on the part of anyone.

I'm not afraid of them, I can always block....

If somebody is irredeemably annoying I just block them. I'm here to enjoy myself.

@Allamanda If you block someone, you don't see what they post. And they don't see what you post.

@Allamanda sure! At least I hope I can... I only do this site on my PC, and not on my phone. Go to the profile page of the person you want to block, and scroll about halfway down. you should see the options to "Block" or "Report" that member, and select the option you want by clicking on the word.

anyone who even suggests any kind of censorship is dangerous, IMO.

Sure. Be happy to make them look like the asshats they are in a public forum. Bring ‘em on.

I hope so.

I hope we allow them to express their opinions on the forum, just like we express our opinions.

I’d like to think they’re learning something. Though, given their own ‘group,’ maybe not..

I suppose those of us who cherish freedom of expression and fight against censorship have to accept that those with opposing views have a right to express them. I too have noticed the vehemence and lack of respect with which some who have right wing views respond to others here. I myself have been subject to abuse, although I never descend to their level in response, I do feel I am able to hold my own against them. Not responding to their rudeness is probably the best way to deal with them, I just end up ignoring any of their posts or replies. Personally, I don’t think it’s necessary to block anyone as ignoring them works just as well.

I agree with you, however, when someone is private messaging you nasty stuff and being an ass, it is time to block them.

@Redheadedgammy I agree....fortunately that hasn’t happened to me.

Most of the far-right and conservatives have retreated to their echo chamber group. You do not see many posting generally anymore.

Conversely, many of us are staunch librrals. If we can openly post, the far right should be able to as well in all fsirness. They would be overwhelmed with reaction posts.

@Allamanda. The Conservative atheists retreated about a month and a half ago into their ptotectice echo chamber caccon. They've blocked almost everybody as they were getting inundated with responses to their posts.

@Aryn Excellent question. Several neo-nazi/ white supremacist groups had been found to be communicating through sites ‘such as this!’ I’d mentioned it elsewhere as a concern, but don’t know how close I’m paid attention to..

@Allamanda Unknown.

Good question. Maybe they're hoping it won't come up.
