Yes you can as has been shown in the UK and Australia. Since the gun laws have been tightened in Australia deaths have dropped by two thirds, but that is not the point that Toby Morris is saying. The shout that "this is not us" from New Zealanders after the shooting as he says is not true. The NZ society is based on colonial invasion and low level racism is endemic in society. Not as marked as in Australia but it is there.
