Maybe other creatures experience of life is rewarding to them in a species sort of way like enjoyment of their instincts, ways that we can't know or experience.

A cockroach simply exists to eat, breed and die, it scurries away from light, it lives in fear because it knows no better nor cares about anything except itself.
When confronted with a 'starve and die' situation cockroaches WILL turn on the weakest/youngest/ slowest of their own kind and devour them.
Humans, for the most part, on the other hand strive to learn, don't fear light, overcame darkness, etc, etc, have invented a social order of sorts, care for their young ( well the majority of us do) and those around us and seek to advance ourselves through knowledge rather than fear, etc.
Personally, I'd rather be a human whose residence on this planet has been relatively short in Geological terms than a cringing, fear-filled, uncaring, selfish cockroach with a Million years of existence any day.

It is a worthwhile point that many things are simply beyond our ken -- perhaps inherently so. We have perceptual and intellectual limitations that are significant, even if we happen to be the apex species on a rather unimportant planet.

Still, we have proven thus far to be quite ingenious at inference and at extending our senses with technology and our mentation with various intellectual frameworks. So I think that the effort, while daunting, is worth making, and that we have, and will continue to, tease out parts of the ultimate answer.

I see no reason not to ask interesting questions. We are capable of asking and answering a lot more than roaches.

Well, we figured out fire, we figured out the wheel, we figured out pasteurization and immunization. Are you saying its absurd to find ways to make life better? I don’t get the point of this post.
