We live in barely controlled anarchy. No law matters. I’m sitting in my apartment choking on the neighbor’s weed smoke. Apartment does nothing though it’s a breech of contract to smoke inside the apt. Police do nothing though it’s illegal as hell in Texas. I just get to suffer.

Before the pro weed people jump my case let me give you a clue. The neighbors smoke three varieties. One smells like skunk shit, one smells like rotten cabbage and the third smells straight up like the slime in the bottom of a trash dumpster in summer.

Any time of day or night this shit slams me in the nose and goes on for hours. Since I’m stuck at home, I can’t escape. The kicker? The string of men going in there smoking aren’t on the lease. The woman who IS on the lease is never there. They’re dealing. I know they are and no one will do anything about it.

Last year a cop was killed across the street. So now they won’t come by here? Wtf.

Time to move.

Smoke triggers my asthma. Your situation sounds intolerable.

Write a dated, clear letter to your apartment manager/owner describing what you told us. Constantly breathing smoke is bad for your health. Your neighbor's smoking in their apartment is a breach of contract and illegal.

Also call the police.

Document. Keep a copy of your letter to the apartment manager. Write down dates you called the police. Documentation will help get these people evicted.

Until you can move or they get busted, Febreeze and good incense will help with the smell.

"barely controlled anarchy. No law matters.". Umm.... kill your neighbors? Yeah, Texas is really really horrible compared to <insert list of dept of state travel advisories here>. Live on a houseboat in international waters and become a pirate? Or you could move to Mexico? (Much less drug use, lower cost of living).

If it's the smell thats so bothersome he really needs to weigh the stench of decomposing bodies vrs stinky ass weed. Gotta think these things through.

@1of5 you're right. Hopefully a few of the neighbors can get together on this one. Anarchy is tricky, forming alliances and tribalism is really important. I know this from watching "Survivor" on TV, and also from taking a 19th century European history class.

@MarkiusMahamius I'd be careful forming an alliance with the neighbors. Chances are thats who the buy their weed from, and they may figure it's easier to get a new neighbor than a new dealer.

Anarchy can be tricky that way.

@1of5 super glad i live in a big clean peaceful low-crime city

@MarkiusMahamius I've heard that about new York ever since Trump moved to d.c.

@1of5 ok I'll get a little shitty about that one. Trump is such a bottom feeder. He's a fu king diversion tactic for the libtards and neonazis alike. The real criminals who pull the strings aren't holding rallies or tweeting about anything. And the petty criminals like half my neighbors, are just Trump with less money.

@Aryn so then kill them it is. Good luck.

@MarkiusMahamius only half your neighbors? You must live uptown somewhere.

You just made a great case for legalization.

@Aryn follow me here, it's easy.

  1. People that want to smoke pot already do, including other neighbors of yours
  2. Since its not legal to buy, there are no stores that sell it
  3. Underground markets are conducted from residences, instead of businesses areas
  4. If there were a store that sold it cheaper, with more varieties, your neighbors would, at a minimum, sell a shitload less, if not be totally driven out of business.
  5. The quality of the odors in your apartment would would inprove due to #4
