Story time: I’ve spent a little too much time on Facebook today and have gotten into two arguments. One with an antivaxxer and another with an evil vegan. I feel like I almost caught “the dumb” with the pseudoscience, homeopathic, plague supporter. I have no clue how the vegan came into play. Mind you I am vegetarian but ffs that’s my decision for my life and I would never tell someone else they had to be like me. To be honest, I’ll cook meat for people. Some how I got verbally attacked for eating eggs ? Anyway, I just had to share. Militant vegans and antivaxxers made for an interesting afternoon lol

Militant anything can make for an (ahem) interesting time. I try to be respectful of people's choices, but I expect a reciprocal courtesy, and that does not seem to happen often enough. Their way is THE way, and your way is wrong.... Huh? We all have our opinions and justifications, and if mine and yours do not mesh, can't we just agree to disagree and not get nasty? I do enjoy a lively conversation, but I really do hate being attacked for expressing a position or attitude. Sounds to have been your experience. Good to know that you've come out laughing!

that sounds like dangerous territory

I only use FB for family and friends that don't communicate via email/phone. Too many assholes on FB

2

I don't have time to argue on FB.

Well, that’s Facebook. I don’t go on there anymore, but I do have their messenger app. Some folks insist on messaging me that way and get mad if I don’t respond.

I eat meat, but really try to stick to fish. It’s mostly for ethics and secondary for health. Why are you a vegetarian?

@BohoHeathen same w/me -when I went through chemo couldn't handle the smell of meat. Don't eat it when I go out to dine. Prefer seafood.

@BohoHeathen +1 thing learned about chemo today. I hope all is well.

Good for you! Stand your ground for your beliefs.

I wish more people were vegan, drive the price of meat down a bit.

Any time spent on FB is usually to much time on FB, but I can't quit it either.
