What do my fellow travellors think about this saying?

Fools learn from experience; the wise learn from history.

I believe this is actually an inaccurate paraphrasing of the Otto Von Bismarck quote....”Only a fool learns from his own mistakes, the wise man learns from the mistakes of others “.

Your quote is what is attributed to Bismarck. I don't know what is the most accurate version. I heard this version from a Japanese statement.

@Beowulfsfriend It’s unattributed or anonymous...depending on where you search....as far as I can see.

Are you a double fool if you make the same mistake several times?

Though ‘nothing’s new under the sun,’ there are different configurations.. It’s impossible to learn from history lacking a device yet to be invented 🙂

Sounds like a good saying.

Wise people learn from both. Depending on how stupid they are, fools may not even learn from experience.
