Somebody please give me some advice. The news is freaking me out to the point where I’m assuming people with crosses around their necks are medieval zealots who want to execute women for abortion, as three states are now trying to do. How are we supposed to differentiate good religious people from bad ones? This is not our America anymore. It’s Trump’s America now. I hate that bastard even more than I love anyone.

And, he has access to nuclear weapons and everything else in the arsenal. And he is a loyal agent of Putin. The GOP is so completely spineless than only those on their way out dare to contradict him. As the GOP build a personality cult around Trump, he becomes more like Stalin every day. The evangelists claim they only support him in order to overturn Roe vs Wade, but it's clear their support is much deeper; they adore the racism and the destruction of the government. The Apocalypse is also their fervent goal, and he has the nukes to bring it about.
Advice? Voter registration or other forms of support for what's left. Protest. 420 or choice of antidepressant.

Define "good" and "bad".
To me there really is no distinction, the moderats provide cover for the extremists.

I believe that too. My own grandfather is a devout Trump-supporting catholic, and I won’t even go out of my way to say hi to him.
Mainstream religions are mostly controlling, patriarchal, and evil at heart. Naive, deceived white evangelicals have been brainwashed since childhood to obey white male authority without question, with the threat of hell keeping them in line.
Best to just smile and treat everyone with respect, reserving your thoughts for yourself, since arguing with any of these fanatics is fruitless. If they bring up religion, quickly change the subject and/or walk away as though you remembered something you have to do.
Just make sure you VOTE, to stop them from passing more ISIS -type laws.
