Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” - 2 Peter 3:3,4.

Peter could not be objective about it. He seemed to think you had to be an immoral person not to to believe in the Lord's return. In fact, he seemed to believe you must be an immoral person simply by not converting to Christianity or leaving it after you joined. He showed this attitude again when he declared that apostate Christians would be like 'dogs returning to their vomit' (2 Peter 2:22).

It's a real shame so many people want the earth destroyed so badly. It's actually a decent little planet as far as planets go. Some of the species are pretty fucked up, but overall I think it gets 2 thumbs up.
