I wonder if this can have anything to do with kids constantly being told they can achieve anything they want. I believe strongly in young people having self confidence where merited but too many seem to have an attitude that they don't have to work very hard to meet goals and rich parents seem to instill this attitude in their kids. This is exemplified in the resent scandal of celebrities trying to buy their kids into prestigious colleges.
