A word of advice to men who feel the need to impress women: Try impressing them withyour intelligence, civility, empathy, and understanding, instead of macho things. You will wind up with much better, warmer, and satisfying women and relationships.

There shouldn't be a need to impress. You are who you are, and some will be drawn to you and some won't. When you try to impress, you probably step outside of who you are and will attract some to a person who doesn't exist. It won't be you, and you won't want the person you attract either.

That depends on their age. Younger women tend to be attracted to older men. After they hit forty, they start desiring younger men. Keep in mind also, that 75% of the US population have the intellects of 12 yr olds. That means that 3 out of every four adults you meet are airheads. This type isn't impressed by intellect, or empathy They have neither.It doesn't matter whether they are male, or female. If you have money, you have to beat them off with a stick. If you have none, then you are S.O.L.!

Factually and realistically, you are statistically wrong and disrespectful of others in your assessment of their intellectual ability. If that were true, the median level of intelligence would be in the zone of mental retardation.

I don't know where you're getting your statistics from, but to make blanket statements about people without backing them up is kind of presumptuous.

@bleurowzLook them up for yourself. It's not my fault we live in a country where ignorance is bliss, no sense makes sense, and Trump is the President!

Everyone's wants and needs are not the same. Those wants a needs change over time for some folks. When I was younger, the younger women tended to go for the "bad" boys. Being a professional musician, that worked in my favor. As I got older it worked against me, as women wanted more financial security and that was something I could not offer. There were women who had there own financial security, and did not care if I had a lot of money. It is all very fluid and certainly cannot be painted in such broad strokes.

That is my way but most woman want the bad boys

Those women are not worth wasting your time on.

@bobwjr

I have never been interested in bad boys.

Instead, I am attracted to highly intelligent, well educated, humorous, fit men who treat me with respect and kindness.

@LiterateHiker yes but the bad boys still get all the love good guys get lets be friends

@Matias

You are mistaken.

I posted an article from Slate.com about a woman who was called nasty names during sex.

@bobwjr

Not true. Starting in the 7th grade, I was horrified by "greaser" bad boys and girls. Greasers wore tight, black leather, greasy or ratted hair, had bad attitudes, skipped school, loved muscle cars, acted mean and tough, and bullied students.

Greaser girls threatened to beat me up for being smart and playing flute. Terrified, I weighed about 90 lbs. soaking wet.

In Michigan winters, I walked two miles to a different bus stop for two years. Luckily, those greaser girls dropped out of school.

@LiterateHiker but you are not typical woman. Typical woman wants bad boys . If you were on east coast would you look at someone like me or pretty beefcake

Who needs to impress them at all? Do you, boo boo.

I have a best friend, most women would put him in the 8-9 range. I know because I've been his wingman. Dude can't stop women from falling out of the trees when he's in a relationship, but when he's single they flitter away. He's tried impressing them with his intelligence, his machismo, his kind heart. He always seems to fall into a relationship three days after he messages me and says "bro I give up on females, it's too hard to find a good one."

I'm not claiming to be an expert, most of my life has been spent in LTRs and I'm objectively not an 8 or a 9 (although my proudest achievement was getting a 7.5 in my hot or not profile in high school), but I think most men make the chase too aggressively. Back off.

Women hate hearing this, but many men do view getting the opposite sex into bed as a hunt. Well, buddy boy, the smart hunter lets his prey come to him.

Not all women want or need to be impressed at all...I prefer genuine and simple...we can all relate to some very common things, like those you listed...

I do think a man can still be a man when he has good manners, is protective (physically), and enjoys "traditional" manly things...I sometimes think we can go a bit overboard with forgetting that each sex has its own unique appeal to the other...

I agree.

@wordywalt You are such a kind and nice person...seriously...

My girl loves her big strong guy, who can break things when needed as well as fix them.

Dont try to impress them at all, just be yourself and you'll both be happier because it was just plain old you that impressed her.
