I like both the first Star Wars and the original Star Trek. I like Star Trek IV: the Voyage Home-because of the humor and whales, and kind of like some of the recent Star Wars prequels, but I like the original rebel gang best.
The subsequent Star Wars movies are sorely lacking in interesting character interactions and humor.

The recent influence of Joss Whedon's Firefly on both of the above is undeniable. Not only Star Wars but also Trek have become grittier, had a funkier, more "used" aesthetic and are more character-driven in their recent installments, compared to some earlier entries (prequel trilogy, I'm lookin' at you) thanks to Joss' much-canceled series.
While I remain a fan of both, I'm a Browncoat at heart. [en.wikipedia.org]

@Jerkwater_Oracle I know this is America, and Americans are obsessed the need to rank, rate, and categorize every fucking little thing. I have always felt this is really STUPID! I like both equally, and you can't make me feel any differently.
