Hi there. Ive left this site twice because I wanted to spend less time online and more time fostering real relationships and focusing on my real life. But as an agnositic I find that having my own community of people to reach out to for reflection and improvement through life's journey is scarce. Until I find that in real life I need a place to talk about my obstacles and passions that shares my own philosophical views on life. I hope I can find that here somewhere. I may create my own group for such sharing. Have a nice day.

There are many of us that take a break but find ourselves coming back to this site because it is really the only place where one can find community of like minded folks, groups that almost everyone can find something they like, and maybe even more than that in meaningful relationships. Its tough out there and being alone and on your own isn't always in our favor sometimes.

We’re glad you returned of your own free will. We were considering a subpoena ...

Welcome back, Laura!

I love this site because it's allowed me to meet amazing people I didn’t know existed!

I thought I was all alone in my journey as a Spiritual Secularist.

I'm from Texas. It feels good to leave the state or travel abroad just to get away from all the bigotry.

People are generally very nice to me, but what boils my blood deep down is the jesus talk.

I smile and listen as people pray for me, but deep down inside, my blood boils.

Welcome back. I haven't been very active myself but this is a good site where you can get in touch with some interesting people. On that, there's a balance between everything. Now, I'm waiting for the start of the rugby match, the final of the Champions Cup, Leinster against Saracens. As I can't be in the stadium, I'll enjoy in the pub, while drowning a few points of ale... 😛

It's the reason I'm here too.

I know what you mean.

Real relationships are overrated

I am glad that you came back after learning your lesson, just kidding.

Welcome back. I think I keep almost leaving but don't because I need a community that isn't always trying to inject their religion into everything. It's hard to get away from that in real life, and sometimes I feel like saying "look, I think your religion is bullshit, so just keep it to yourself," but... I don't want to lose what few good relationships I have in real life.

So this place is a relief valve for me, in large part due to the absence of religious overtones.

The road of life we all travel has many good and bad days, losses of loved ones are some of the hard days. When a couple marries, the thought of one day being alone is never in their minds."Forever" may not be as long as they think. I was late to marriage at 43,an old bachelor,my poor wages made dating few and far between,so yes it did bother me seeing happy couple and families but I have been used to being all alone,in High school, I had no girlfriends, so no senior prom ,when my classmates were marrying, having kids and divorcing,I was in the Air Force in the heat and humidity of Thailand, working on aircraft weapons systems. My job made me like a roving gypsy, moving every 6 months to a years time, never long enough to put down roots and find a good Woman, maybe having a family....

Welcome back, it is nice not to have to hide your beliefs to be accepted.

I agree with you. As a dating site, while I know there have been lots of love connections made (and I have met a few people I really clicked with but they are all so far away and we are so entrenched in our situations that it just didn't make sense to pursue things) the saturation is just too low. Not enough local people. As a community of non-believers, it's great! Not perfect, but that commonality goes a long way and it's why I have stuck around. Welcome back!

Welcome back to the community. It's good to find a balance of online and offline stuff to do in your life. For me this only place I can share my views of the world without religious bs getting in the way. I feel more welcome here than I do by friends and family in the offline part of my life.

Welcome back, Laura. I hope the fellowship is good for you here.

Always nice to be someone's second choice.
