Someone suggested this idea to avoid abortions. Let's have all men get vasectomies. It is a relatively minor procedure which is totally reversible. When a guy decides the time in his life is right for a child, he can have it reversed. A vasectomy is much safer and effective birth control than ANY of the birth control methods available to women, other than abstention.

My vasectomy is decidedly NOT reversible. The surgeon cut a section out of both tubes, cauterised both ends knotted both ends and fitted clips. He wished to practice all the procedures, and I said I certainly didn't want it ever reversed.

Well, it is reversible if your doc doesn't make a mistake or you choose to make it not reversible.
@itsmedammit It can indeed be performed to allow reversal. In my case, I already had two children and had no intention of having any more, and no intention of having no more sex.
