If you could travel in a time machine to witness any event supposedly of a religious nature, which event would it be...and what would you actually see? I find this question infinitely fascinating and wonder if someday we might be able scientifically to peer backward through the years with a kind of time telescope.

I used to have those thoughts up until the age of 35 or so. Today I realize there would be nothing there to see. We have made it all up. Besides, our time machine only goes forward.

My assumption would be to see what people misinterpreted, if anything. An example might be the "Miracle of Fatima" where some people stared at the sun and said it was dancing around, while others there saw nothing extraordinary. Although I think it is pretty obvious that that one was just your eye/brain malfunctioning due to an overload. If your eye isn't detecting anything because, say, you stared into the sun until you are momentarily blinded, your brain will just fill it in with whatever you think is there (the same works for the dark, fog, thick forests/jungles, etc.--if you are primed to expect something, you will see something).
If I could travel in a time machine, I would love to be in the day that religions are wiped out of earth (doesn't have to be in the past, right?)

I'd like to see the library of Alexandria. Not religious but if I could save a few scrolls or even the entire thing, I'd be happy. Then maybe we could find out all the good stuff we've forgotten.

Good choice, but it is religious in a way, a mob of christians burnt it!
I'd pass. Itd be in a language I didn't understand, so chances are I'd misinterpret it even worse.
