I used to watch the Atheist Experience all the time. Good show!

Yes! His personal youtube channel has some great stuff, especially the Atheist Debates project. His takedowns on the Atheist Experience are so satisfying!

Ahh, yess! It is gratifying as fuckk. Much like eating cake IMO.

I used to watch AE every Sunday but I have to be careful with my streaming usage now.
That said, in my opinion he takes a back seat to Tracie and Jen on that show.

Ah! Jen! How could I forget?!
I love her, she's pretty awesome. Tracie is awesomesauce! Such an intelligent woman, and better at keeping her cool while Matt is losing his shit. 😂😂😂

@Bibliophile_xo Back when I was watching regularly Jeff Dee left the show to focus on doing the podcast Iron Chariots. I think the main reason was that he was tired of not being able to get a word in edgewise when he was co-hosting with Matt. Tracie seems to be the best at reigning him in and speaking her mind.

His was the first atheist YouTube channel I subscribed to.

he's my faverite AXP host

Tracie Harris and Jeff Dee are close seconds for me!

Great Show with great people who know exactly what they are saying and let the whole world come on air to join in and I'm sure half of them are sitting home looking up what verse and chapter he is telling them isn't correct. Try Bart Erhman who is a Professor of Theology at Chapel Hill. He is also on You Tube in which he hosts some great debates and also takes Q@A at the end of his debate. Then go and look up Christopher Hitchen. Bios of Martin Luther, Calvin, Erasumus, and John Hun all of whom were devote Christian Scholars of their times and what contributions they made to ensure that the interpertation and explainations were properly translated. Lots of Mistakes were made and this was an era when the printing press made all this information open to the public for the first time ever. This is all on You Tube fur free.

I have read several of Bart Erhman's books, but I had no idea that he was on YouTube. I have also read a few of Hitch's books and watched several of his videos. I'll definitely look up Erhman on YouTube!

I drank at his house a few times and played Cards Against Humanity.

Fun fact: his wife - Beth - used to troll him on his podcast, trying to give him a hard time because she used to be a believer. He converted her and then married her. 😛

I thought it was a prank call where she cited Ray Comfort's banana "theory." And Matt responded about being able to make something that looked like a banana appear in his hand. It was hilarious. I cackled in my car.

@Bibliophile_xo she was legit religious until she fought Matt.

I love that! Now THAT is a love story!! 😍😍😍

When he retired in 2013 The Atheist Community lost a strong voice.

It was through him that I was able to truly understand David Hume..... his ideas on skepticism really drove home my own secular believes and drove me to research earlier philosophers who have really enriched my life. I personally feel he is a treasure of the atheist community.

You say he's retired?
I watched him on the Atheist Experience live today.
I know he travels a lot more now and does more speaking engagements though.
I agree: he is a treasure; I've learned so much from listening to him. Tracie and Jeff are my favorite hosts after him.

@Bibliophile_xo when he ended his tenure as president of the atheist community of Austin he announced his retirement. However you are right. He has stayed very active since then.

Yes 🙂

Do you follow the show every Sunday?
I tend to listen to the shorter videos in my car while driving.
