I live in Canada and every day I am horrified by the absolute shit storm that spews out of Trumps face every single day. So can someone please explain to me why he has not yet been impeached???

Sorry to be so blunt but all Clinton did was lie about getting his dick sucked in the oval office. And he was impeached!! Trump has done FAR FAR more lying and is worse than Clinton by an order of magnitude that I cannot even fathom! Can someone please explain this to me???

Its called a calculted risk. When the Republicans Impeached Clinton, at the next election, they lost several seats and control of one of the houses they dominated.

As it presently stands, Republicans control the Senate. Should Impeachment go forward, it would take a 2/3rds majority in both houses to actualize. Right now, the leader of the Senate refuses to even let it be brought forward for a vote should the process go forward.

Coincidently with that, if it failed in the Senate and Trump wasn't successfully Impeached, he and his cabal would claim Democratic harrassment and his total exoneration.

The converse argument is to allow the law suits go forward. Slowly win the cases at court and get incontrovertible evidence of a felony. Once corraborating is in, then go forward with Impeachment.

Final argument. begin Impeachment proceedings to give grester teeth to subpoenas. Expose evidence and get the greater part of the American public to get on board with the Impeachment.

Largely because the Congress is controlled by Republicans who put party loyalty above doing their job or basic decency.
Also, though, the VP is a crusading evangelical and possibly even more dangerous.
Also to the rest of the world, we are very sorry and most of us voted against him.

because he will never be removed from office by the senate. thats the reason. so all it does is make his base of dumbasses think this signals "He's doing nothing wrong!" and it strengthens their resolve. how impeachment works is generally not understood by most of the american people and they vote on how THEY think they are doing. they're being told that they're doing better and they believe it. it's not until they really feel negatively impacted that they will even begin to consider the error and even then they will sacrifice to meet the needs of their backwater conservative beliefs. so until we have a very solid mandate from the people it's a tough road. we need to beat them at the ballot box.
