Dr. Neil Degrasse Tyson, and Dr. Michio Kaku on god, and Science.
One of my favorite quotes from Neil, was " the only kind of "ist" that I am, is a Scientist. as a responce to many trying to call him an Atheist.
I love both of their views. Practical Science vrs woo.

I feel the same. I'm not one for labels, but if I have to, I'll say that I am an Agnostic Atheist. Atheist, because I in no way believe in any kind of supernatural deity for lack of better words. And Agnostic, because I can't prove it either way, no matter how absurd the concept of a "god" really is.

Just the same as I can't "prove" that unicorns exist.

I think that you are the only person who have got the gist of my main point. Hopefully you also agree that Neil, and many others in a way just bypass the whole "belief" thing, and really focus on the tasks at hand.

Science pays no homage to a god or gods. It is, among many things, a tool for trying the best and most honest questions, mainly trying to answer the unknown.

The whole idea, of proclaiming, "I don't know" , but I want to know, is by all respects, the most intelligent stance there is.

From the late great Carl Sagan, " I don't want to believe, I want to know".

@TristanNuvo I agree.

Unicorns do exist. Just follow a rainbow and you will find one at the end farting.😁 I am a human being and my non belief or lack of belief is my business and no one else's. I could care less what other people want to label me.

Not quite the same thing.
Unicorns are horses with a horn. Magical. Don't exist on this planet. Fact. Might have in distant past in one form or another.
God can be envisioned as anything you want. No "facts" available.

Hmm, you say you are not one for labels, yet you use two? Why not just say that you don't believe in any gods or religions?

And yet Tyson still doesn't believe in any gods. He's just desperate not to turn religious people off to science, and that's fine. Sagan said something similar in his day...and yet never believed in any gods either.

@OwlInASack In all honesty, my "that's fine" was a bit sarcastic. Tyson knows what he's doing--he just values science education more than pointing out he doesn't believe in god (although he has pointed it out clearly several times).
