Here is my rant: Nearly all my friends here in Florida are immigrants. All middle class or lower. This article disgusts me because the fault is mostly on the churches and do-gooders that give immigrants help...but do not advise them about the correct procedures they should be taking to become citizens. The immigrants put their faith in these people. I am passionate about this topic. I know what some of the immigrants have run from. My friends made the long arduous effort to become citizens and they love America for allowing them a life they love. All people should be treated with respect, but either become a citizen or be a tourist.

I see your point but wouldn't your anger be more well-directed toward our government instead of the churches? They are giving them asylum, they are not legal aid centers. The levying of fines is asinine anyway. It is as rational as bringing a wrongful death suit against someone who gets the death penalty for murdering someone.
There seems to be fault on a lot of sides, I agree.
Didn't both of those women apply and their cases were heard or about to be heard in court? I know one was denied and the process is started again.
Most Americans have no idea what it costs in time and money to apply for citizenship...often times the cost of attorneys is paid for by churches or other groups, but the $725 for each time a person applies is not easily gotten by many...many can't work since they are waiting for a hearing...seems like their hands are tied a lot along the way.
Our sanctuary churches do have people on hand to help navigate the system and many people sponsor all or part of the costs...
Come here, adapt to our culture and do not try to make it where you came from as most moslems are doing.
You must not know many Muslims...their kids eat french fries and pizza just like the rest of the kids...only their religion is different...oh, and many of the women wear a slightly darker lip color because they are not as light skinned as some of us...other than that, they seem to be adapting quite well...I am not sure I would like to eat a diet of corn and buffalo and I don't speak Sioux...guess I didn't adapt too well...
