Christians often believe that god is responsible for their income, house, etc. They think that just because they have some special relationship with a god, they, out of everyone, they have been "blessed" with material possessions. It is a "what's in it for me?" thing. Yet it is clearly the opposite of what their Geezus preached, and, not only that, they claim that their god leads them into an afterlife, (with streets of gold) which is putatively much more important than life on earth . . . . but in actuality, they are NOT behaving as if that were so . . . and in fact they behave as if there is no such afterlife, they value what is in this life far more, and seek power in this life. This contradiction does not bother them though, because they are use to defending contradictions . . . . they believe in that holey book after all!

all of the things they worry about are part of this earthly body. good and mad, moral and immoral ... all of that is based upon this body and its' limitations. what good are gold streets when you can't see or hear or feel or walk ... and gold is only important here because it is scarce. all of their advantages for "heaven" are based on worldly things. the truth is we're all going to one place. all of us. the same place. all of us. and unless we're part of a singular consciousness "we" won't be around when we reach it.

There was a movie where Jimmy Stewart was a farmer. He had a great line like "We planted it, we tended it, we harvested it, we cooked it, and now we are going to eat it. Thank you Lord".
