And now Sir Kim Darroch UK Ambassador to the USA has done the 'right thing' for Anglo-American relations, demonstrating that he isn't stupid and in a truly intelligent and diplomatic act resigned his position not because of Trump's childish tantrum, but for future relations between the countries.
If only the whole of the American public would see how someone in a position of authority should behave and sweep away that damaging buffoon Trump so the world could look upon the USA with some respect again.

The world looks upon the US with respect right now. We are as close to perfect as it gets. No need to change!

zesty Level 7 July 10, 2019

Do you have anything to support that viewpoint?

@Haemish1 It is my observation. Lived and worked in many countries, objectively see the development of science and technology in the US. It is perfect - comparing to any other country.

@zesty
How recent is your experience outside the US?
I haven’t travelled outside the USA in several decades, but from what I’ve read it seems that the current administration’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accords, and the Iran nuclear treaty have diminished our standing in the world view.
For the first time, we’ve had citizens of another nation protest our president visiting their country with a ballon representing him as a baby in a diaper.
Certainly our science and technology are very good, and we may not be disrespected as individuals, but I think the divisiveness of our politics has lowered our standing in the eyes of the world.

@Haemish1 Last year I worked in Europe for two months. My friends over there, all highly qualified technical professionals, think that Obama s Iran treaty was a disaster for the civilized nations and the Paris climate accord was nothing else as a wealth transfer tool.
Demonstrators- Soros-paid useless rifl- raff.

@zesty As European, Briton and Social Scientist, your perspect is at odds with reality. I have to study deeply into international relations and the sociology of the world. At this moment in time the USA is laughing stock thanks to Trump. He is undoing the hard and difficult work that Obama had achieved in bringing America forwards. Certainly there are those who support the false authoritarian bigoted tiny minded Trump viewpoint, that would be the opposite of the truth.
Although the loss of the Ambassador is a serious matter togther with circumstances of his departure, we in the rest of the world, find the toddler tantrum of Trump sadly amusing.

@Sofabeast Obama made huge damage to. The US. Trump does his best to fix it. His style is unusual, but his results are unquestionably great.

@zesty Our analysis of Trump is he hasn't a clue on how to do politics and econmy and is damaging the USA internally and externally. Lets just look at his stupidity in climate change policies. The evidence is there, unyet he chooses to stick his head in the sand. He has been proven to be a out and out liar. Often contradicting himself within a paragraph of conversation.
Is can percieved that no leader can ever make everything right for everybody, but Trump appears only to be looking after himself and close cronies who cannot or will not see beyond thire immeadiate needs and desires.
He is an embarassment to America. We only have to listen to his incoherant ramblings about the Continental army controlling the airports during the revolutinary war 1775-83!

@Sofabeast Climate change is a possibility. However the solution is obviously not to slow down the American industry and transfer our money to undeveloped countries. Just the opposite. We need to radically increase our technological development, and if needed, we'll decrease the energy output of our sun or shield our planet on a global scale. American science and technology will be able to do this.

@zesty Climate change is no longer a possibility, but a fact. It is not just the USA that must change, but the whole of humanity.
One of the most important acts we as a species must take is to reduce our population size as quickly and peacefully as possible. ie, without wars or exterminations. Even then, it may be too late for many.
Now to look at why developed countries should channel resources into thord world countries. If they have better stable conditions to live in, then many will choose not to move. The USA was of course set up by immigrants settling in new lands.
Decrese the energy from the sun? Not yet, and not without a world government.

@Sofabeast There is nothing we Americans "should" do! We may give some handouts to undeveloped shitholes, however we are not obligated to do so. World government? Never!

@zesty I suggest that you study sociology and gain a proper understanding of human society and how it interacts with itself and the world we live on. Gaining an understanding of this subject will not provide the answers, but will open the mind.
If you would like to be directed to various theories, approaches and thinkers on the matter, I would be delighted to help.

I wonder if the person who leaked Sir Kim's private memos will be pursued as swiftly and dealt with as decisively as Gavin Williamson.
