i have 11 ppl blocked. and i'm quite sure more that a few have me blocked.
i don't mind being told i'm wrong but won't abide gratuitous insults from raving maniacs or ppl that are just plain stupid.

Yes there are some contrary people that I'm glad to find I'm having good discussion with.
It makes me have hope that all people can find some ground to have civil discourse.
I figure if I remain civil - maybe they'll be civil back - and sometimes it works!

Of course... there are also some who would run after you just screaming "I'm right - you're wrong - and you're evil too!" no one needs that. And I really don't like being stalked on social media and I've had that experience a few times here. Someone who decides it's their mission in life to ruin your time spent online.

Add to this that people can't hear your tone in what you write online and they seldom stop to ask before engaging in a flame war.
Some people like to start flame wars.

I'll only bang my head on that wall a few times before I give up on them becoming better "members". If they want to be toxic they can find another audience.

Those are probably the times in which you are unknowingly wrong. You can pry the block button from my cold dead fingers. Some people ain't nothing but a waste of oxygen.

No, you're not the only one. I'm very reluctant to pull the trigger for similar reasons and I don't end up blocking myself off from the interesting things those people might post.

The block is my best friend on this site. Eliminates a lot of clutter.

I only have three people blocked...not because we have different opinions, but because they were either super hostile with name calling and were later removed from this site, or, I just don't like anything about them...too many interesting people here of all views to put up with anyone that you don't want to for any reason...nothing personal...

I've blocked a couple, but I've been blocked by at least a couple that I'm aware of. I don't block people because we disagree, but because I don't really care what they have to say.

Nope. I've only blocked one person, the softcore porno king, because he was either posting softcore or whinning about not being able to post more. It was rather tiring.

Now the number who've blocked me, I'd guess at around 1 a week. Evidently I can be a big 'ol meanie pants.
