This time (10am) tomorrow I shall be embarking on my annual jaunt from Southern Spain, driving up through France before taking the ferry to England. After a week in London we will drive to the North West, visiting friends in the Lake District, then across the Pennine way to the North East, before eventually driving back down to the South East.
After one month of England, we take the ferry back to France, then drive to Italy, via Belgium Luxembourg and Switzerland.
After a month in Northern Italy, we will return home in mid to late September, via the Rhone valley and Lleida.
Isn't it great to be retired??
Sounds like a great trip - if you want to share a coffee as you pass by Doncaster send me a message - be a pleasure to share time
I may even do that. Thanks.
Is it difficult making the switch from right-hand drive vehicles,to left-hand drive?
Not at all. I grew up in Kenya, like U.K. a right hand drive country, but have lived in Spain, a left hand drive country. Initially, I wound down the window whenever I tried to change gear, but within a fortnight I was completely accustomed to it. Now I drive my left hand drive car in UK but, other than seeing ahead to overtake, it's no problem.
Sounds fab! Have a great trip....and please drive carefully!
I'm always careful. It's the stupid idiots sharing the road with me that I worry about.
Wishing you good weather & lovely sightseeing!
Thank you.
You lucky duck. Bon Voyage!
Thank you.
To be retired and well to do. What a great trip. Can we expect photographs?
I shall try to take some. I am most remiss usually, suddenly remembering to take photos a few minutes after I've moved on.
@Petter We will enjoy them!
