How to not fall into the trap.
The recent racist outbursts by 45 was not a gaffe. If you look at the time-line it seems to be a very calculated gambit. Fox News started it off, he tweeted and then rallied support. Why do this? what is the strategy? Simple, the democrats were rightly outraged and lept to the squad's defence. Thereby doing just what he wants. At this moment all the pictures are of Trump against 4 women of colour, one of which is in a headscarf. That is the way he wants the US to view the election. It is not about right or wrong, it is about winning and losing.
How do you counter this? and it needs to be done because if you do not then everyone loses. Yes, even the people who think they are winning. Why? well if you win but leave behind a fragmented and split nation. Then it is a pyrrhic victory.
If for example to democrats had said "Yeah they should leave. Just as soon as we can find one of those damned airports that George Washington stormed"
or
"The rally is just the Sieg Heil junkie getting his fix. Let's talk about jobs."
The Democrats need to find a different star to hitch themselves onto and quickly. If you want my 2c worth? Then Michelle Obama or Oprah Winfrey.
