Democratic 2020 Candidate Senator Elizabeth Warren is Warning of another Economic Meltdown

"Warning lights are flashing," she wrote. "Whether it's this year or next year, the odds of another economic downturn are high -- and growing. She said, another financial crisis that would devastate the United States -- "a single shock could bring it all down"

Major Factors

  1. Growing household debt,
  2. Growing corporate debt
  3. Manufacturing recession

Do you think a crisis is looming or she is selling her plan?

trump has not benefited our so called economy, which the vast majority of us live within!

Only the wealthy and their corporations are reaping vast economic wealth off our backs!

The wealthy and their corporations do not care or having any problems with all it destruction and dismantling of our protections and safeguards we as a people have gain over the last 242 jyears as a nation!

All one has to do is too look and study the Baltic Dry Index BDI to see at best the economic situation is leveling downwards not upwards.

Now trump and the Obstructionist republicans are downplaying the value of such brenchmart indexs used for over hundred years!

The banks and financial institutions are unbridled to the point of all,out loan sharking of the. Middle class and the poor!

These banks and financial institutions have no worries because of their ownership of the politians and the governing bodies which set monetary policy!

It is an argument that is known and acceptable only in the Democrat and socialist circles. The rest of the country believes in the reports by the government and economists.

The economy has not worked for the common man since 1970s as I can remember. The jobless economic growth has been going on since 1980s. We are herds. We are told what to believe and we do it.

Do you think country's common man and woman analyze what the economy is actually doing?

We are told America is great, so we believe it. We are told America is the leader of the free world and we believe it. We are told that America is the richest nation on the face of the Earth and we believe it. But how many in the 330 million know none of this is true?

If the economy even stays as it is now, Trump will be re-elected in 2020.

Rulers own the information. It is a powerful weapon.

I have felt we are long overdue. What is going on is simply being driven by the market (again) which never seems to learn. I totally agree. Our voracious demand has simply gutted our resource base and the result will come soon. When it does the person in charge will be the one who bore the brunt of the nations anger. I like to remind people of what happened to "El Duche' when Italy fell during the war. It was not pretty (but would love to see something similar happen to tRump.) This is what happens to fascists (warning it might be a bit disturbing).

Remember, tRump is not a politician or even a decent business person. All his dealings were based on bankruptcies and bailouts by his father.

What would you choose... a bad economy or not have Trump in the office? lol

@St-Sinner We don't get to choose and we'll probably end up with both. Thing is those that supported him will be hurt the worse.

If what she says is true, then the government has an obligation to stop it from happening

What if the Government thinks she is crying wolf?

@St-Sinner I'm sure that you read @SeaGreenEyez comments regarding how economies take a nosedive whole Republicans are president. As I recall even over the last 30 years, it's the truth.

It is the Indian crisis!

The problems that caused the economic meltdown of 2008 never got fixed. The corporations that were too big to fail are still too big. The banks are still gambling with our money. Regulations never got implemented.

She wish with all her heart every freaking day that we will have a recession, only to get the pleasure and glory to say "I told you so". They rather see the country fail !!! That's NOT love for our country. That's as lame and low as they can get....no, wait, scratch that. If it is possible to go any lower then she will find the way. Shame on those who wish us ill.

You mean she only sees problems and sees nothing positive at all?

I don't think that she wishes the country would fall. I am sure that she truly hopes that Trump would fall. Those are two different things.

When we have a democratic president, Progressives make your argument, now that Trump is president, Conservatives are making your argument.

Love for your country does not mean love for your president.

She called the last one well in advanced, so it's not about being the "I told you so" type. [billmoyers.com]
You're off point and can't view anything objectively due to your tribal mentality. This is straight economics, not standing by your favorite sports team through thick and thin type of politics. It's highlighting when your favorite sports team is headed for a thin year based on data/evidence, which includes indicators, policy decisions, and what others are doing. I tried to make that simple, but it may not have been enough. Your comment is based purely on feelings and that ridiculous sports analogy.

I guess I have Pocahontas Deranged Syndrome..... it's a popular disease to have now a days

So people who make predictions based on history and evidence are automatically unpatriotic? Actually, those who criticize the country are the most patriotic of all. That is what a democracy is all about.

She is some piece of work...... When this lunatics will understand that Trump got elected because of people like her?? It's actually comical at this point.

It's not just the Senator "selling" a plan... The indicators are there. Part of the reason "it" has not happened yet is the Idiot's tax plan helped to keep the bubble inflated. Most people can't keep in the black because of stagnant wages. And while a "stimulation" to the economy that it was, the tax plan's effect was only temporary. It leaves us in the situation where now the government needs to spend even more, and that means either budget cuts or raising taxes (which do you think will happen). This leads to a drop in confidence in the economy, which will cause the chain reaction that leads to recession. My "hope" is that it happens sooner than later; or at least prior to the full 2020 election season gets under way.

Endless deficit spending has to crash sometime. No plan just a fact.

There has been a long standing pattern of a downturn approximately every 10 years.

I’m not sure about devastating the US or “bring it down”. But I can see a recession

0

Yup that's inevitable
