Beautiful part of England - hope you avoid the storms today - not called thelake district for nothing
Bit of thunder, but no storms. Now I'm in Darlington.
@Petter a little less glamorous hope you don't end up exploring the dark side of Spennymoor
@ShadowAmicus No, although one day I would like to visit the Durham mining museum there.
Tonight I'm going to see a play in the old Georgian theatre in Richmond.
Tomorrow I shall be wandering around Durham city.
@Petter As you come south on the M1, the National Mining Museum is in Yorkshire and well worth a visit - underground tour etc

And in the fine tradition of English place names, the Derby Arms is nowhere near Derby.
There isn't even a horse-racing track nearby.
I am very happy for you. I LOVE the Lake District and I am very lucky to live close-ish to it. I wish you a lovely time and I am sure you are having one.
I am indeed, thanks. Tomorrow night I'll be in Darlington. Over the weekend I'll be in Oakham. Then I'll be on Milton Keynes and visiting Bletchley and also the computer museum.
I feel a bit envious of you. I always wanted to see the lake district, from the pictures I have seen it looks gorgeous. Whey did you not take me with you?
Enjoy...the scenery in the Lake District is magnificent. The pub looks good, I bet the food’s great too.
Damned good chef. Had an excellent supper, but it cost me £100 for 4 people.
@Petter Thats about right, I go out every Tuesday with my friend and it’s usually about £25 each....including wine,
@Marionville Dining out in Mojacar is much cheaper. A comparable meal, including a bottle of decent wine, would cost around £65.
@Petter That is why so many Brits live on the Costas!
@Petter You’ve picked a good spell of weather to visit ...it’s predicted to be very hot today....maybe thunder later,
