Ooooh, that's how it works. Too bad tribal politics gets people to vote against their own interests and what's best for the country.

The 2019 US defence budget spend is US $693 billion - so it would be simple to reduce the defecit if the war machine started to shrink

Unfortunately, the new bill is requesting $718 billion for 2019/2020...it is a bill supported by both parties...

@thinktwice that is the obscene problem of the USA

The part of the Republican party that I was originally attracted to was their intense platform on reducing our debt...I remember seeing the daily ticker on how much debt each American was in for...it was horrible and worried me to death...

It is clear that they have no qualms in increasing this debt...what happened? They are not fiscally conservative at all!!

That's because Repubs love all tax breaks and would like to eliminate all taxes if they could on the upper classes. The are also somewhat bigger warmongers than Dems. That's how they create deficits...

@Bobby9
We went in kicking and screaming with WWI and II. Vietnam was a debacle that saw the beginnings in the 50s. Korea had a coalition, so not like the others. Also, be careful with going so far back in history because there is a point where the party isn't recognizable to the one today.
