Are you Agnostic, or perhaps call yourself Atheist? If so, how do you justify constantly vilifying a president - thee president I consider the best of my lifetime - who respected your thoughts and looked to advance what should be your goals..?

@Veteran229 It was banned because trumps people wanted it banned. If there needs to be litigation for every suspected crazy or radicalized fundamentalist to be denied a gun - what did this so-called president just propose in his televised talk..?

There’s a frightened minority out there who’ll apparently stop at nothing, no matter how high the body count, to maintain weapons designed for mass killing. It’s wrong, and most know it.

As far as your aunt - your business. I happen to support Trump, even if in liberals eyes it makes me a racist, fascist, etc. Who cares about their opinion?

@zesty Obama bad, trump good? If so, that’s more than a differing opinion, it’s existing in different dimensions. As near worthless as he is ..I’ve taken all kinds of crap defending some of trump’s policies. I’ve seen you there, and felt you were right, too. But for you to blatantly and continuously demean an honorable and stellar president like Obama, claiming you oppose ‘everything he did’ leaves you to appear little more than a ‘team player.’

If a trump rally came to town, would you happily stand behind him, like a prop? Booing, hissing, or chanting with the rest? And you never answered my simple Atheist/ Agnostic question. If you are either (and you need be if I remember the sign-on questions), do you feel the trump courts will look out for us, more so than Obama’s appointments..?

...problem is.. while we’re were “researching’ (..and researching some more)… someone with access to a military grade assault weapon & body armor with pockets of clips is arguing online over his ‘right’ to stockpile weapons & ammo … before he shoots up a ..let’s see: School? Interesting … you’re going with the ‘crazy people shouldn't have guns’ idea … but further up this post it was made pretty clear that ‘no one will be able to declare anyone crazy’ … till they pile up some bodies..?

This needs to be over. I’ve owned and carried guns most of my life.. A daughter just got her concealed carry permit. But his has to stop! Honestly, it tears me up. It’s fuckin hideous!

I worked within school districts not so long ago, having volunteered within my daughters’ schools before that. Maybe you’d have to find yourself huddled in a closet with your terrified elementary kids during an ‘active shooter drill’ to get the feel.. Or having to escort a middle school girl in tears back to class as she couldn’t make it through the assembly on Columbine … or have kids of your own..

Try being ‘the adult’ who guides the students of the town's largest middle school out the exits or to ‘safe areas’ after the principal begins banging pieces of wood together against the mic to resemble ‘shots.’ ...and this is ‘only’ within Schools..

Granted, I’d not have to turn in an assault weapons, though I would.. Mine are old-school (no pun), the same pieces ‘Americans’ have used to defend themselves for generations. My favorite uncle was a gun nut - but didn’t need an assault weapon hunting bear in Alaska. Assault weapons are for offensive maneuvers, not hunting, or in home protection - and we all know it.

Admit it - Assault Weapons make fearful men & boys feel powerful. If they’re used to mow down Putin's army - hell yes.. If they’re used to mow down innocent Americans -- you tell me?

For decades we’ve been told it’s ‘just the crazies.’ You know and I know - you can’t stop suicidal crazy - and apparently, there’s a never-ending supply of them. So we need to eliminate their tools..

Had a favorite neighbor, too … and when an ol’ war buddy mailed him a pristine fully-auto M16 … he took it to the desert and buried it. It was illegal. Same guy posted on facebook a day ago … a life-long Republican, maybe you’ve seen the meme, “If a mall full of Texans couldn’t stop a shooter,” “who can?” ...his commentary was simple, “Something to think about”

Well, while everyone’s thinking … it’s time to act. Guns need not be ‘outlawed.’ They’re useful, and unfortunately necessary. But, as you’ve heard, there’s no need for the weaponry used in these continuous mass murders of the innocent..
