There are decent conservatives, but they are being drowned out by their racist, mentally unstable, Far Right fanatics. They allowed the Tea Party and radical Religion Dominionists to take over their party. But they fear Liberals far more than they fear their fringe element, so I doubt many will work to bring their party back to centrist out of fear of losing elections. A tactic that the Democrats need to learn if we want to win elections; unity behind the candidates we run for office.
