More sad evidence for mysogyny in the Land of the Unfree...

"The motivations of men who commit mass shootings are often muddled, complex or unknown. But one common thread that connects many of them — other than access to powerful firearms — is a history of hating women, assaulting wives, girlfriends and female family members, or sharing misogynistic views online, researchers say."

Blaming the innocent, the victim, is a foundational pillar of religions who believe in blood sacrifice. Believing that sin can be transferred to an innocent lamb, or person, has created a mindset that has been prevalent in society for a very long time. Women and children are raped and blamed for their own rape, they are sold and exploited like property. People of color and the poor are exploited and payed poverty wages, slave wages, to keep them in their place. It isn't strange that women and people of color are the most religious demographic, it was meant to be that way. While all the while there is an unreasonable reverence of an authority that is considered macho and dominating. And all the while convincing them that they will have a mansion or some ultimate excess in a heaven that hasn't been proven to exist. A perfect set-up for the few who would exploit others for their own benefit.

The Catholic Church has acquitted an HIV-infected priest who has admitted to raping close to 30 young girls between the ages of five and 10 years old.

A fascinating article!
While these folks may not have diagnosable mental disorders, they all appear to have, as stated, difficult lives, starting in childhood, and have never learned basic "Emotional Intelligence," how to live in concert with others, have then become outcasts and women haters. The original book called "Emotional Intelligence," was written by Daniel Goleman, and outlines how it is learned,at home, within the first 4 years of life, or is not learned, in dysfunctional homes.

Sad but true.

Makes sense to me. Women sure don't do mass shootings that I've ever heard about even tho there are many women who own guns, enjoy shooting, and even have military training with guns. Maybe they just don't have the same level of hatred towards others that these men have and are also not as sexually frustrated. The other piece of the puzzle may be that women do not have the same sense of entitlement as white men, who do almost all the mass shootings, seem to have. Therefore, less rage when they do not get their way in love, jobs, etc..

Wow... very insightful... gonna look you up and follow you, if you don't mind, @TomMcGiverin!

@MoonTigerII Don't mind at all, sir. I take that as a high compliment.

I wonder about these guys childhood. I have met women who have hated their dads and transfer that hate toward men in general. I am sure there are some mommy haters among the crown. Abuse, the gift that keeps on giving.

Agree, but topic here is mass shootings- not parent hating by both sexes - not one woman has done that.

@Veteran229 So you are saying these mothers train shooters? Where are these boys fathers and role models who you are implying might teach them to know better? Or have you given up and accepted mass shooters as a welcome part of your world? Read my other reply to you, my man. Make no mistake: Mass shooters are boys of all ages, not real MEN.

@MoonTigerII Mr Veteran229 is never one to let facts get in the way of a bad story.

@MrBeelzeebubbles I consider all posts as learning and teaching opportunities... he has things to teach us, too. I love crossing swords... the sparks and clamor are an adrenaline rush!

@MoonTigerII I agree but I also understand that often women internalize their problems whereas men externalize them. Coupled with an excess of testosterone (many shooters are young) leads to the situation we presently have.

@Veteran229 I made a comment on this to MoonTiger.

@JackPedigo Agreed. It has been shown that hormones such as testosterone can influence psychopathology when conjoined with other risk factors such as drug/alcohol usage, family violence, peer pressure etc.

@Geoffrey51 I remember an interview with a small town sheriff years ago. He said the best way to curb violent crime would be to lock up all the men until they were 35. At that time their testosterone levels would be much lower.

@JackPedigo Well, behavior is part of the problem. Gun Control is the other part you have not mentioned... The NYT quote in my post does and I finally introduced it above...

@MoonTigerII I am referring to a possible cause and effect.

Curious about why so much anger and resentment towards women from these men. What perpetuates the misogyny?

@GreatNani @LiterateHiker I am guessing sexual tension and hangups. I think humans are probably naturally bisexual and non- monogamous like bonobos. But 99% of societal institutions discourage that and people explode and self destruct as a result. A lot of epigenetic viruses like linear left brain alphabets too... and EVERYBODY uses it to TEXT! You and I have discussed this before with no discernable effect on you re voice calls. My late friend and mentor Len Shlain here on the Alphabet vs. the Goddess (women)

@GreatNani @LiterateHiker Female dominant Pan paniscus bonobos physically nearly identical to violent male Pan troglodytes chimps... but their cultures are very different. Chimps only mate when females are in estrus between offspring or when young females are in heat. Bonobos screw constantly.

I'm guessing rejection plays a large part.. But mental illness still is the ultimate reason.

@Captain_Feelgood Yes, but mind is brain and brain is body, so "mental" illness should be understood as a general physical illness and not segregated from it. Everything we do is driven by brain chemicals, genes and epigenetics - environmental influences that trigger them.
