Since there always seems to be an upcoming election for something and a non-stop parade of political candidates running for something. The one thing that is driving me out of my mind is RACISM.
Did Obama get elected because he was part black? Yeah, maybe. IS that reverse racism? Yeah, Maybe.
But here is the REAL DEAL. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to elect the best person for the job because the ONLY CHOICES we get are those who raise the most money. People who know how to convince people to give them money, primarily WHITE GUYS who have spent their carrier honing their skills at raising funds to run elections.
FUCK OUR POLITICAL SYSTEM, it's been fucking us for decades.
THE ONLY way to elect the best person for the job is to let everyone have a chance to run and when the political system is a PAY TO PLAY system only a few have the funds and they get them by spending almost ALL of their time in office working donors.
We need a ten thousand black, brown, tan (any color but white) to enter they system. For every white person running for office there needs to be at lest four non white Because only then will people see that there are other choices and maybe then we can have an election where people can vote for the best candidate rather than the very few who have the willingness to whore out their office to get the money to run the two year campaigns we have now.
Have your seen our presidential choices? Big surprise, Looks mighty white and it's mostly white all the way down.
We need thousands of new faces flooding the system at the very bottom so that they can work their way up so that some day there will actually be a presidential election where we have at lest ONE PERSON really worth voting for and a system that is not PAY TO PLAY and where our elected official don't spend half of their time in office whoring themselves out for campaign funds and the other half trying to run a campaign for two years.
And I know I will get accused of white bashing but I look at our multi cultural and multi colored nation and I see a monoculture of white running it and it makes me angry that so many are so held down while the people holding them down are telling them they have every opportunity they had to get where they are. Hard work my god damned ass. People treated as inferior their entire lives will never rise no matter how hard they work because they are not allowed to believe they are worth what CEO makes, and what color are all the CEO's?
Anyone who makes 10,000 times more than their lowest paid employee is a criminal to me, but we don't call them criminals, we call them captains of industry, even when they make millions in bonuses as the company goes out of business and hundreds of employees are told they can't be paid.
It's an unfair world and there needs to be a quiet revolution and that revolution starts with thousands of people of every color and orientation running for office and changing the system from within.
VOTE THE BASTARDS OUT, ALL OF THEM, let's start this again fresh because it has gone rotten too long.
OK, stepping off my soap box now.
As far as Obama and racism, one thing I hated about Obama was that he and his supporters used his race as a weapon against those from the left, like me, who criticized him as a corporate, warmongering, sellout because they could then accuse us falsely of racism if we bashed him, even tho race had nothing to do with it. His race also worked as an appeal to liberals so they could feel all warm and good about having finally got a black person elected prez, no matter how flawed and corrupt. It was sickening and disgusting, esp. now that Obama and his wife have gone on, exactly as I predicted they would after he left office, and started cashing in on his corruption with the high priced speeches to corporate groups. It just took a little longer than I thought it would for him to start collecting his bribe money for being a good corporate servant to the rich and business. Bring on the haters.....
It is a very old maxim that people who want to become politicians should be immediately barred from doing so.
The answer to our problems has been there for decades. It's called public financing of election campaigns, but it will never happen no matter how much people bitch about how money runs politics and how sold out the candidates are, because the concept sounds too socialist and our legal system has been rigged long ago to prevent it and instead preserve the legalized bribery of campaign donation as the equivalent of free speech.
