Learning more about, and reading, the entire Bible certainly made me realize that the God described in its pages cannot exist; but, it doesn't cover all gods. Learning science and accepting its findings is what led to my becoming an atheist. One of the first books I read, when I first began my journey of inquiry, was "Who Wrote the Bible" by Richard Elliot Friedman. And, was it ever an eye-opener.
