I was in Brazil — my SIL is Brazilian — 7 years ago and made a trip up the Amazon River from Manaus. I have always had a soft spot for Brazil and as a child studied it as Brasília was being built then. So this dictator and corrupt politician greatly saddens me.

Bolsonaro may prove to be more detrimental in the long run than Trump...the destruction of the rainforest is devastating for the environment, it cannot be restored once it’s gone,

I think someone shared an article on this site recently about a reforestation project already taking place in the Amazon- perhaps it’s not as devastating as it would seem 🤞

@Haemish1 Have you been watching the news? It’s catastrophic!

@Marionville
I haven’t watched tv for several weeks now- I get some news on the radio, but not much of that either😟

@Haemish1 There are raging wildfires in the Amazon rainforest which have been burning since last week. It’s caused by the burning of the trees to clear it for grazing land for cattle. Bolsonaro has been getting criticism from the international community because he gave permission for this....now he’s trying to blame others. There are protesters marching in Brazil today, it was on the news.

Bolsonaro, is Brazil's trump. In fact the two of them have formed a close friendship. Bolsonaro's policies and views on climate change in particular are similar to trumps. Our corrupt and mentally defect president should sadden all Americans also.
