This has been done several times in the past, in physics labs from Australia, to California, to Europe. The big problem is how to teleport Humans, and preserve their mental faculties. If I transport Spock from point A to, point B, he will have the mental state of an infant, and have to re-learn everything. His heart might not even survive the experience. In which case, the people doing the teleporting would be guilty of murder. I'd give it another hundred years, before it becomes practical.

I wonder how they know they teleported the photon and didn't just observe a different photon at the destination.

Really, " multidimensional quantum teleportation". I read the article twice. I have no idea what they are talking about.
