Interesting and provacative read.
I see the evidence of this author's claims displayed daily in social media. Thoughts?

This Brit is NOT an Atheist and she condemned Richard Dawkins as an Islamophobe... violent Muslim attitudes have been polled over 30 % against Americans and British since Tony Blair and daddy Bush invaded halfway into Iraq through Kuwait....this is not islamaphobia to read muslims support for 9/11 in many countries AS WELL AS THE obvious facts muslims abuse women and girls according to Islam...how many more magazines or social worker holiday dinners need to be riddled with Muslim bullets or for that matter how many more gynecologists must die from xian bullets....tampon terrorism at abortion clinics jihad against USA....that's my free speech the Brit journalist claims motivates bigots in her country to hate innocent muslims

It is highly questionable to casually lump Dawkins' denunciation of all things religious with Islamophobia in particular. To be sure, Islam is at least as hateful and violence-prone as Christianity. With the massive influxes of Islamic immigrants, Islamophobia is to be expected. Islamic terrorism would still be the main terrorism problem except for Trump's encouraging White Nationalism.

The other elephant in the room is the Putin regime's campaign of abusing social media whether it's in the Ukraine, France, Britain or in the US. The Russian campaign has sought to inflame tensions on a massive scale, either to elect Le Pen, to pass Brexit, or to elect Trump. Shame, shame, shame on our intelligence services for not tamping this down. The Senate issued a report on how Putin helped Brexit to pass and yet not one American news agency covered it. The NSA monitored all this before our own 2016 election, and did nothing to intervene. This may all be part of some ugly plan by the Deep State; it's hard to understand their indifference unless they tacitly endorse it. Maybe they don't give a shit as long as they can bribe the GOP with their agenda.

It's amazing how much we don't know. It's so hard to sense of it all.

I agree with her on all counts: I read right-wing trolls’ comments on all social media and they do cry that their right to free speech is being violated when they are shouted down or banned. I support the author’s argument that—as I read it—speech that puts people in danger should come with a measure of regulation. Even if that comes with a risk of tamping free speech, or giving the impression that free speech is being denied. It’s not an easy subject. She covers it well.

I mean, right away I could bring up all kinds of evidence to support her claims. It was very eye opening.
