VAPOUR & VAPING.
When we sneeze, in addition to the visible spray, we also eject ultra-small particles of liquid.
Whether or not we have an infection, both the spray and the microscopically small particles contain bacteria and viruses from our respiratory system. These "bugs" can survive until such time as they run out of water or are killed by ultra violet radiation etc.
If someone else breathes in these particles, some will lodge in that person's respiratory system, and unless dealt with by the immune system will spread an infection. This much is common knowledge.

Now let's consider how a vape works:-
A small amount of water is subjected to ultrasonic waves, causing it to break up into a mist of minute particles, similar to mist or condensed steam. However, unlike the former two it never passes through a gaseous state. Therefore, any "bugs" in the water remain live.
Provided the water used is pure and sterile, this is not a problem, but if non-sterile additives are also used, the final vaping fluid mixture could carry "bugs" and be detrimental to the vaper's health.

However, there's another consideration:-
The vaper inhales this mist, then exhales it, usually quite strongly, and often in a form of "display". ("Look at me - I'm vaping!" ) (I've yet to see an apologetic vaper.)
This mist, as it passes in then out of the vaper's respiratory sysyem, supplies microscopic "life-rafts" for viruses and bacteria.
If the vaper is reasonably isolated from others, no harm is possible, but in a crowded room, any infection will be spread far more easily than if the carrier were not also vaping. For this reason, I feel that indoor vaping should not be allowed in public.

Ultrasound doesn't exist in nature. The micro-droplets created by ultrasound are smaller than any naturally occurring water droplets. The droplets can bypass the mucus and cillia that protect us from natural mist.

We all carry bugs, viral agents, shit and piss, etc all the time ... and we all exchange these little bits all the time .... and most of us get through the contact without a problem.
I don't like the stench of cigarettes or vapes, so sit upwind of anyone stupid enough to deliberately suck pollutants into their lungs .... but I don't worry too much about ill effects to me

Our bodies can handle a normal amount of foreign bodies, but can be overwhelmed by a mass invasion. Think trench warfare. Because the vape mist picks up an inordinate amount of these bugs, if present, and helps them survive in transit, before being inhaled into another persons moist respiratory system, coughs and colds get passed on more efficiently, and stand a better chance of overwhelming an immune system.
After all, our skin can block all sorts of invasive bugs, but it's still a good idea to wash our hands after going to the toilet.

I am not a vaper but I have tried it in the past. Vape juice has no water in it... It is an oil. More like cooking oil of a sort. Also, the vapes I have seen use a heater to create the vape... Not ultrasonic anything. I am not sure where you got your info. It doesn't sound correct to me. Do you have a link where all of this has been reported?

The original liguids had no water, and used heaters to vaporise propylene glycol, later with vegetable glycerine from oil palms added, to reduce the "dryness". However, the heaters themselves are dangerous. Since the propylene glycol readily absorbs water, vape liquids contain water, eben if not actually added Hence the ultrasound atomiser. These create a mist without requiring great heat, and so are less likely to damage your lungs by "cooking" them.

Latest research shows that chemicals that are themselves safe, are combining to create new compounds that are unsafe.

I refuse to be around a smoker. Vaping smells like cigarette smoke. Begone!

I don't disagree. I am a non smoker and my employer only hires non smokers (yes, we're tested before we start working and can be retested at any time.) I choose not to be around smokers whenever possible.
