Something to love and hate at the same time. Trick was to back up to one of the bars to keep from flying off! Thank goodness we just had dirt and grass around the merry-go-rounds of my childhood!

Children today are losing these rites of passage as you point out. Scapes and skinned knees and elbows, football in the face and nuts all prepare you for the fact that life is not unicorns and rainbows!

The good ‘ol days! Though… my best friend went through is formative years with his front top incisors broke due to our antics.. They’ve since been repaired, as he’s now a republican millionaire And, the youngest of four boys … he had 3 replacement siblings..

Anymore, with the cost of braces, and fewer children, parents are definitely far more careful… We grew up next to a magnificent city park (with all the dangerous stuff!), fortunately, I was amazingly coordinated, thus kept my teeth
