Rival GOP candidate for President, Bill Weld, accuses Trump of treason pure and simple. Agree/Disagree he committed treason threatening Ukraine with loss of financial aid unless they provided "negative" lies about Joe Biden's son.
I don't think the one action is enough but the sum of his actions with foreign countries and their leaders is more than enough for treason charges against trump, pence and multiple members of his administration.
I don't think his constitutes treason. He has several other actions with Russia and Putin that more closely approach treason.
This is impeachable though. Its unethical, unprofessional, and petty, but then again everything Trump does is unethical, unprofessional, and petty.
Trump's followers are like recalcitrant students. Like recalcitrant students they are willing to destroy themselves and everything that makes this country unique and respected just to make a point.
Like a student which refuses to do the assignment because they are mad at the teacher. By not doing the assignment they believe they are punishing the teacher. They inadvertently make the teacher's life a modicum easier; one less assignment to grade -lol... in the process they harm themselves by not getting that grade.
This what Trump supporters are doing. Destroying themselves in the long run to make a point.
As I understand, it does not appear that this meets the Constitutional requirements for treason.
Definition: "In Article III, Section 3 of the United States Constitution, treason is specifically limited to levying war against the US, or adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. Conviction requires two witnesses or a confession in open court.[2]" Wikipedia.
However, this does not mean that if he did this, and it certainly appears that he did, that it is not an impeachable offense.
The problem is that we have a corrupt and complicit Republican Party that controls the Senate; and I don't know if anything the orange, lying, POS traitor does will cause them to convict.
Bill Weld on the warpath on Lawrence O' Donnell on MSNBC tonight.
@sassygirl3869 I sure hope more Republicans and ex Republicans go on the warpath against the "enemy within."
Treason was committed whether or not the Ukraine did anything. The act was committed by Fhead and Whiteboy.
