Sanders said earlier on Tuesday he had been "dumb" to ignore recent symptoms, including increased fatigue, that might have been related to the heart attack he suffered last week.

"I must confess, I was dumb," Sanders told reporters outside his home in Burlington, Vermont. "During this campaign, I've been doing, in some cases three or four rallies a day, running all over the state -- Iowa, New Hampshire, wherever. And yet I, in the last month of two, just was more fatigued than I usually have been." [cnn.com]

The question is.... if he was dumb not to take care of himself at this age, how could he think he could be president of American people among which many are a little smarter than him?

Obviously, somebody or something has given him a wrong idea that he was good. lol

The fact that Bernie has an instinct for speaking the truth without fear of how lesser minds will spin it is a yuge part of why I will be voting for him, even if he has twenty heart attacks.

skado Level 9 Oct 10, 2019

That is fair and honest.

But when we say he is the best and electable, that's one thing I have a problem with.

@St-Sinner
What’s “best” is a personal preference, not an independent fact. That’s why we vote. “Electable” is determined by only two things: how the people vote, and whether the DNC cheats again. If we knew in advance who was electable we wouldn’t need to hold elections.

@skado
Currently, electability is judged by polls and victories in the primaries. That is the yardstick now. Bernie is running 3rd now in the second run. That is not a good sign. The heart attack just adds to his challenges.

@St-Sinner
The polls said Hillary would win. Signs are not conclusions. “Challenges” is what Bernie is all about. If you want him to win you’ll keep an open mind and try to lift people’s confidence in him. If you want him to lose you’ll point out his weaknesses.

Voters seem to think they choose the president, but they don’t, under current laws. Electors do. Our job is to inform the electors where our principles lie, not to second guess who is electable. Bernie represents my principles. Warren absolutely does not. I will not give my vote to someone who doesn’t represent me. The purpose of voting is not “winning.” The purpose of voting is telling the truth about your values. If Trump wins again maybe the DNC will allow someone the voters actually want to become the nominee. If we keep swallowing their “lesser-evil” ploy then that’s all we’ll ever get.

@skado
So you don't agree that polls and primary victories lead to nominees and votes will lead to electing president-elect?

@St-Sinner
All of that, plus DNC/RNC manipulations, plus electoral college shenanigans, plus a thousand other things we never hear about.

@skado
Winner wins, That is all he does. No whining, no excuses

@St-Sinner
Absolutely. But those other influences are a part of reality.

@skado
That should be the second story. The first story is winning. Let Bernie win first. He is running 3rd in his second run... He is not a winner.

@St-Sinner
We won't know until the votes are counted. That's why we cast votes. Second-guessing means nothing. Biden was ahead at first; now he's not. It's not over til it's over. I'm not making any predictions, and not listening to anyone else's.

@skado
Hope is what the world makes go around

Oh Jesus Christ. Bernie just did what a vast majority of people do - be to busy trying to get something done to go to the doctors when they should have made time to see a doc.

Not a Bernie supporter and hope he drops out.

Wow, Bernie tells his story to help others, andyou twist it....and FYI, he had 2 blockages, Not a "heart attack". Easily fixed by laparoscopic 20-minute procedure. My ex had similar done at age 54....alimony still rollsin.
Dumb-ass Troll, much?
.

You are like Trump's blind supporters. No truth will be enough for you to think right. Read here = [slate.com]

A heart attack cannot be reversed although further damage can be postponed. Even a mild heart attack reduces the efficiency of the heart - differently in different people. Your husband is not a yardstick to how the facts should be in the world.

Bernie's candidacy is dead.

@St-Sinner it was Not a heart attack, it was arterial blocks.....why do you ignore Truth?

@AnneWimsey
I am not a doctor. but every single news report is calling it a heart attack. I just sent you the most liberal new site called "The Slate" that reports it is a heart attack. I am not ignoring anything. I am reporting. Therefore, that is what it is to voters. A heart attack. You can explain all medical terms in the book but it is a heart attack to the voters.

Especially the last sentence.

@St-Sinner because, I dunno, you have never seen any bias against Bernie in the news?

@AnneWimsey
Not more than any candidate including Trump. A candidate who is able to win, will win and not whine. When paranoia sets in, the panic starts in campaigns and in followers who begin blaming everybody and everything else except themselves.

Bernie was and is a bad candidate. Period. He was bad from the start and I hope he disappears from politics for good. We want these old, frail and worn out people to vacate chairs and let the new, young generation with new ideas come in.

@St-Sinner Hahaha... I don't know why we even bother trying to educate ourselves on the candidates and have an opinion. You apparently know all there is to know and you know what is 'right'. Thanks for keeping us informed on how we should think.

@BeeHappy
No, you should read and make up your own mind. I am stating what I know, have understood and my opinion based on that. Don't let any political pundit, CNN, Fox News, media outlet, Svengali, guru or I tell you what you should think of candidates.

We did that by joining the chorus of celebrating a bad candidate like Hillary in 2016 and paid a heavy price for it. Every one was jumping with joy and was sure she was going to win in 2016.

@St-Sinner Oh, sorry. I guess my sarcasm didn't come through. Don't worry about me... I will definitely make up my own mind.

@BeeHappy
I am glad. Sarcasm does not work with me. I am a straight talk guy.

@St-Sinner "everyone was jumping with joy..."???? On what planet did you see that? Her rally halls were half-empty (as opposed to Bernie's overflow crowds, and yes, orangeSFB's as well)

I think this confirms what some people have thought, Sanders is too old to handle a presidency. Warren will inherit some of his followers and be the front runner. I think this plays into trumps plan so that he can paint Dems as socialists which will fire up much of the Independents. I like Amy Klobuchar, moderate, female, mid-western, fiscally responsible.

I agree but you forgot that Biden is more than half destroyed already. It looks like it is going to be Pocahontas vs. the Orange. The Democratic ticket as I am guessing will be Warren / Castro. Castro will deliver Texas and large Hispanic votes.

@St-Sinner You are probably correct. I would just rather have a more fiscally rational POTUS next term. That said I'd vote for my recliner if it was running against trump.

@rogueflyer You know who would sit in that recliner? Mitch McConnell.

@St-Sinner You mean Moscow Mitch?

@rogueflyer
Yes ! 🙂

You mean the Shrill Shill? Ain't happening.......
