On my way of thinking all charismatic leaders only harness power from fanatic believers, it can be alt right, it can be religion etc.
The true believers in any ideology (political, economic, racial, religious etc) will have a too strict "morality" to climb to the leadership. You need the flexibility of a cynical "believer" to be able to lead a group of fanatics.

And this does not make him a better person, just a sociopath that really don't care for people at all.

trump is a racist. That said he has no loyalty to anyone but his family. He will be your friend until you are no longer useful to him and then he'll throw you under the bus if it benefits himself.

Equal opportunity asshole. He is about Trump. He has no deeply held beliefs.

Whether he's a racist is a good question.
He loves any person or group of people who flatter or support him and despises those who criticize or reject him. This seems to be regardless of race.

Having said that, I still believe he's a racist. He just makes exceptions for anyone who will feed his narcissism or bank account.
