Should college athletes be able to be paid (for what, by whom, any limits) ? Opinion: (John Feinstein)
California did the right thing. Don’t buy into the NCAA’s propaganda.

Yes, they should be able to get paid!

The Free Market Capitalist in me says 'YES' ... Let them, no matter what age (just like a kid actor, or singer) go out and make money with their talent.... The other side of me says the Public Schools/Universities shouldn't become marketers of such talent.. They pretty much already are for the most part, but this would take it to a whole other level that just seams like a slippery slope to no-good.. If kids start looking at Schools as merely launching pads for Pro Athletes, then will there be an incentive to go to school for scholastic endeavors? Just let the students go to one big Campus, and Athletes go to another.. Why mix the two? But then you say "well, what about those that want to continue their education, but want to play sports as well, but not professionally after they graduate?" And BAM,,, there's a whole other side to the equation one must consider.. It all gets very complicated, and quite the conundrum. Where do you draw the line? How many kids out there will go to "Pro Sports School" in hopes of making the big leagues, only to get rejected, then have no education to fall back on?? Therefore, my final answer is, I say NO to young Athletes selling themselves before they get out of school.. πŸ˜πŸ‘

I agree that NCAA players should be paid if their likenesses are licensed for a product.
